About Us
Transitioning Together is a North Carolina-based nonprofit organization dedicated to creating inclusive, meaningful community experiences for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
We believe that connection does not end after high school programs. Our work is grounded in the belief that every adult deserves opportunities to feel seen, valued, and included in social settings that foster genuine relationships and a sense of belonging.
Through thoughtfully designed events and community partnerships, we create welcoming spaces where adults of all abilities can connect, build skills, participate, and thrive—together.
Inclusion is not an afterthought—it is the foundation of everything we do.
Our events intentionally bring together adults with special needs, volunteer students, and community members who are committed to learning how to support one another with respect and understanding. Through inclusive language and supportive environments, we create spaces where individuals feel welcome, understood, and appreciated.
Most importantly, they allow individuals and their families to build authentic connections that extend beyond a single event.
